Overview:

Operation WESERÜBUNG called for a prompt seizure of political institutions and assets in both Demark and Norway. Seizure of two Norwegian airports-Fornebu and Sosa-by paratroops was the key to this goal and a prompt buildup of German forces. Although still under construction, Fornebu was the home to the Jæervingen, the fighter wing of the Norwegian Force, and only 8 kilometers southwest of Oslo. Onthe morning of 9 April, the initial wave of paratroopers assigned to seize Fornebu ran into heavy fog and their transports turned back and landed at Aalborg in Denmark, Although ordered to return as well, Junkers transports carrying regular infantry in following waves continued as they suspected the message was a Norwegian ruse. After a brief encounter with six Norwegian Gloster Gladiators that had just taken off from Fornebu, these transports discovered it was clear enough to attempt at landing. The dash to Oslo to seize the Norwegian King and his government's assets was still on.

2022-11-13(A) Dmitry Klyuykov vs Steve B German win

(VASL Log)		Round 2 in Stew's mini-tournament. The game started with several lucky prep fire shot that allowed Germans to move aggresively several squads to get some positional gains. One checkpoint fell under the DC, but the second DC malfunctioned, so Germans had to clear it with troops. On the 5th Turn German clearing troops were broken and rout, but they had some reserve squads. All Norwegians firing points were also binded by Melees, and as German survived them, they could freely clear the last checkpoint on their last turn. Great game! Thank you for the game, Steve.
2022-07-08(A) Kermit Mullins vs Scott Waites Norwegian winMy Germans rolled poorly on the Turn 1 Prep Fire and then got hammered by the Norwegian Defensive Fire. My Germans broke often and my opponent kept rolling snakes. I finally took control of the village on Turn 4, but my initial DC placed on the Q6 checkpoint failed to get a 2 MC and by Turn 5, I could see that I had no chance of getting the checkpoints....so conceded for a Norwegian victory. The Norwegians wasted me at the airfield, which ultimately cost me the game. My high rolls kept me from doing much and his low rolls just gut punched me throughout the game.

2021-10-24(D) O Ramaille vs Norwegian winThe Norwegians setup scattered in the village to force the Germans to lose precious time to get to them and control the buildings. The Germans quckly blowed a checkpoint and eventually controlled the village. The last checkpoint was harshly defended with the Germans unable to approach close enough to place a DC. An Allied victory.
