Overview:

After the successful capture of Cleve in Operation VERITABLE, the next stop for the British would be the capture of Goch. To move swiftly before the Germans could recover from the loss of Cleve, a "jock" column of the 46th Highland Brigade Group moved out on the main road to the southwest. The column consisted of the 7th Seaforth Highlanders, a squadron of Coldstream Guards tanks, Kangaroos of the 49th Royal Tank Regiment, the Canadian Armoured Regiment, and a battery of self-propelled guns. The group arrived at Qualberg, a small village two miles east of Cleve. After a sharp engagement there, the group moved under constant artillery and mortar fire to the next village-Hasselt.

2025-04-13(A) nathan wegener vs Randy Shurtz German winDown to the last turn. German AT gun got hot and took out everything it saw. All the Brit armor was lost including 4 loaded kangaroos. Despite that, the Brits needed just 1 more building and the Germans were down to 3 GO squad equivalents and just about got it done. recommended scenario - fun for both sides.

2025-02-16(D) Vic Lauterbach vs JM British winI took the German defenders in this Rhineland fight against a very powerful British force. I set up to slow Jim down and hold the six multi-hex buildings east of the 71I1-70I10 road plus the 71J9 church. It was slugfest right away. Jim aggressively hit both flanks. I was overmatched in infantry and leaders, but an ATG and 2 Jagdpanthers gave my force lots of punch. I lost my right flank Jagdpanther to a side PIAT shot early, but I held out in 92J7. I killed both Achilles, 3 Shermans and 1 Kangaroo (plus immobilizing another), but Jim crushed my left flank infantry then got MMC behind my surviving Jagdpanther to grab 3 buildings for the win. Jim: This one presents both players with lots of challenges, and we both thought our force was too weak to win. That's the sign of a great scenario!
