Overview:

During Operation Morning Glory, The Royal Canadian Regiment (R.C.R) initiated the Orange Blossom phase, aiming to advance along the railway to the critical Villa Grande Road. Despite meticulous planning, the assault faltered disastrously due to poor artillery coordination and inaccurate maps, resulting in the R.C.R. facing severe casualties and a morale-shaking defeat under intense German Paratrooper crossfire.
Attacker: Canadian (Royal Canadian Regiment , 1st Canadian Infantry Brigade with 12th Canadian Armoured Regiment (Three Rivers Regiment))

2024-10-15(D) Jeff B vs Steve Etzelmueller German winI set up fairly far off the line, so it took the Canucks a couple turns to move up under cover of heavy smoke and very light German contact. Meanwhile my men kept busy digging FHs at the goal line. Turn 3 saw his reinforcements enter north central, behind his preceding mass of men, and a tank bogged on some wire in the road. Neither of my guns had shown their faces yet, though he was very close to stumbling upon both of them. I finally brought one onboard Turn 4 and blasted a Sherman, and his 9-1 was lost (to a sniper?). My gun overheated during my half of the turn with two Sherman butts in its face, never to recover. But my other gun knocked out two more on Turn 5, and that was pretty well the nail in coffin. With neither of us too keen on continuing this one he conceded with the CVP count 21-0 for the Germans, and the CG count 17-0 Germans. But I figured I'd need this cushion with the remaining two scenarios looking pro-Canuck to me.
2024-07-04(A) Dan Best vs Dave Mareske German winFirst to play and post.
2024-07-04(D) Dave Mareske vs Dan Best German winThe first two scenarios out of this pack seem to be tough on the Canadians. The Germans have a lot of fortifications and even though Dan avoided most of the mines, wire and the German MTRs were able to pin and break several of the Canadian troops. Some poor Rally Phases in turn 5 and 6 for the Canadians made exiting enough CVP impossible.
2024-02-18(A) Vic Lauterbach vs Jim M. Canadian winLC Playtesting for George Kelln. We switched sides and played again on 01-Mar-2024, that was a German win.
