Overview:

In the pre-dawn hours, amidst the chilling winter of Luxembourg, combat engineers of the 38th Panzer-Pionier Battalion and the soldiers from the 2nd Battalion of the 304th Panzergrenadier embarked on a mission. The objective was to seize the strategic village of Marnach, a move critical to securing the route from Dasburg towards Clerf and the pivotal point of Bastogne. However, their path was staunchly defended by the determined men of Company B, 1st Battalion, 110th Regiment of the US 28th Infantry Division. As the German forces emerged from the shrouding mist, they launched a fierce assault with flamethrowers and explosive charges, yet the American defenses held firm, refusing to yield. In a tactical shift, the main German thrust diverted westward, bypassing the resilient Americans, while engineers toiled to erect a 60-ton bridge across the Our River. It wasn't until the evening, with the bridge complete and German Panzers reinforcing the attack, that the American troops, outgunned and outflanked, began their withdrawal under the cover of night.

2025-04-17(D) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best American win1.33 hrsThis scenario should be named...the Ghosts of Dead Germans at Dasburg. My Americans chewed up the Germans as they tried to advance. By Turn 3, six German squads were KIA'd and the Germans were stuck in the woods on Mine Hexes. A 12 on an NMC for the German 9-1 was a 12 and then a 6. That was the last straw and the Germans gave the concession. So far, this scenario appears to be very hard on the Germans.
