Overview:

During the destruction of Army Group Center, many of Hitler’s “Fortified Localities” were cut off and surrounded by the Russian advance. Bokruisk was just such a city. The city had become a fortress with pillboxes and old tank turrets being used throughout. The Russian attack came from the north and south where the Germans were weakest. After successfully breaking through the fixed outer defenses, the Russian attack turned into bloody street fighting. . .
Attacker: Russian (Third Army, First Belorussian Front)

2023-01-30(D) John Garlic vs Matthew Romey Russian win[Imported from ROAR]
2022-07-23(A) Dave Mareske vs James Treu Russian winLost the Russian 9-2 leader to a sniper on the first roll of the game, then proceeded to lose three AFVs, but the rest of the Russian forces pressed on and thanks to some breaking of German weapons proved to be enough for the win. The Germans have to find ways to keep the Russians from massing large fire groups, but once the Russians get entrenched in the buildings it is harder on the Germans. The Russian FT never ran out of fuel...a rarity for me!
2022-01-31(A) Kevin Duval vs Dwayne Duval Russian winUsed Russian Balance. Russians seemed to get the momentum going right from the start ... mostly straight up the middle with harassing units on the flanks. German AFV & Guns were neutralized early which gave Russian Infantry freedom to maneuver.
2022-01-31(D) Dwayne Duval vs Kevin Duval Russian win
2020-11-22(A) Scott Fischbein vs Bill Burtt Russian winGood city fighting scenario. Bill had as solid defense and took out one of my tanks early with a AT gun on the front lines... It took a turn or two but I was able to take care of that gun in CC, and once the reinforcements came on, things were looking grim for the defenders. They amanged to take out the ISU-152, but after that the dice went downhill for Bill and he lost all of his tanks, with three of mine free to run amok, and determined Russians closing in from all sides, he conceded after turn 4.
2019-09-13(D) patrick palma vs Kevin Killeen German win
2019-06-22(D) Jeff B vs John Malaska Russian win5 hrsGermans setup with wire blocking the east, infantry covering the west, and FLs protecting the middle. Unfortunately for them one of their FL squads broke to the well-positioned HMG nest in DD2, leaving the center ripe pickings for the Russians. They were able to reach the two center buildings during Turn 1 already. The StuG repositioned itself to put pressure on the level 2 hill, but the INF gun which was also positioned there got lucky and knocked it out. The Russians had a lot of hot dice in the first couple turns and, with their vast numerical/armor superiority, it was just smooth sailing from there. By the end of Turn 5 there were barely any Germans left standing.
2019-02-16(D) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best Russian winDan's Schwerpunkt moved hard and fast under a great smokescreen and never looked back. By Turn 7 all 5 buildings were in Russian control and all Germans were KIA'd.
2019-02-16(A) Dan Best vs Kermit Mullins Russian win
2018-11-21(D) Lorenzo Marinaro vs Ruben Rigillo German winGreat scenario! I feel that the Russian is very challenging to play.
2018-11-21(A) Ruben Rigillo vs Lorenzo Marinaro German winRussians need a bit of Experience but can win! :-)
2018-10-25(A) Lorenzo Marinaro vs German German winGreat Scenario very difficult for the russian player due to the TEM that benefits the Germans and the 2 AT guns + 2 Tank Hunters make the russian armor useless imho.
Great scenario that offers many possibilities to both players.
2018-10-25(D) Francesco Berucci vs lorenzo marinaro German win
2017-06-23(A) Jeff B vs Ryan Ellett Russian win4.25 hrsInitial placement of wire befuddled my planned route of attack, funneling me toward a middle approach. German HMG nest caused some damage, but the Russian HMG was able to counter it. Two Russian leaders were wounded in the early stages, reducing fire effectiveness and slowing down the advancement of the MMGs/HMG. The next hurdle to overcome was an optimally placed 76L. Both guns ended up being placed in great defensive positions. A heavily guarded southern building was a surprisingly easy nut to crack, but a hero generated in the north proved to be much harder to uproot. He ultimately fell to the FT, whose wielder had a rough time staying in GO early in the game. The StuG was a beast, taking out some tanks and suppressing infantry. He was finally immobilized, opening a path to the final stronghold. By this time that was all that was left for the Germans and they conceded with little hope of holding out further. Another great scenario and fun match.
2016-07-04(D) Jeff B vs Scott Sherer German win16.5 hrsOne of the most riveting games I've played in recent memory. Russians made good use of VBM freeze at the end to set themselves up for almost a sure victory, but a reinforced melee on the last turn went the Germans' way and preserved the victory.
2016-07-04(A) Scott Sherer vs Jeff B German win
2016-06-29(A) nathan wegener vs Dave Mareske DrawI was super aggressive early and ended first turn with no G.O. MMC. Armor held off the Krauts and I rallied back and surrounded 3 squads on T2. T3 I raced a couple trucks in behind and grabbed the back building with 2 MMGs keeping the Krauts from coming back to protect another. This could have gone either way - we had to call it a night...
2016-05-07(A) David Garvin vs David Ready German win
2016-01-02(A) David Yllanes vs Juanjo M Russian winA fun scenario that I won at the last possible opportunity, by rolling snake eyes on a 1:1 CC to capture the last building I needed
2015-12-01(D) John Garlic vs Mike Weiss Russian win[Imported from ROAR]
2015-07-18(D) Seumas Hoskins vs Matthew Clark German winPretty rough scenario with the overall firepower Russia has to bear. Russia did a solid job of using large guns at range to suppress angles and slipping in those deadly assault engineers, but made some oversights on the building approach which Germany capitalized on causing the win.
2014-09-19(D) X von Marwitz vs Chris Hofland German winInteresting scenario which I played as the defending Germans. I think usually the scenario will play out as follows: At start, the Germans can and have to dish it out as the Russians are vulnerable during their approach over open ground or bad TEM. Any Russian broken, reduced or killed during this stage will buy the German some time that he will be in desperate need of later in the game. Eventually, the Russians will reach the city proper and lodge themselves in stone buildings. At this point, the Germans usually will not have enough firepower to thoroughly harm the Germans while at the same time they are no longer hampered by long range fire. Now the Germans will take a beating. It will depend on how well they manage to delay the Russians during this stage if they can win the scenario or not.
In our game, my Germans did a good job breaking a whole lot of Russians during their approach and to keep many of them under DM. I managed to immobilize most of the trucks by infantry fire which my opponent had used a little to daringly. Most of the passengers survived but were broken and had trouble getting back to Good Order without leaders. My 50L ATG performed well deliberately immobilizing the ISU and afterwards taking it out with a lucky penetration from the side. It killed another Assault gun with a rear shot. The 76L died for nothing. Lurking hidden, it delightedly watched a truck loaded with infantry park at point blank range - but it gacked its TH and IF rolls to be taken out afterwards by some disturbed and very angry Russians. I lost my StuG to a lucky shot of the Russian INF gun. This hurt me the most because it opened up my western flank where the Russian advanced in force. Altogether, though, I managed to be a nuisance to buy enough time that the Russian only held the G3 and H5 buildings at the end of Russian turn 6 while at the same time being lodged in the three remaining buildings on various levels and the approaching streets partly covered by the 50L and the TD. By then, the Russian had no operable AFV any more and conceded because it seemed unlikely that he could flush my from the upper levels of the buildings with stairwells blocked by other Germans. Altogether a good scenario. The Russian needs a high PMC during the first turns.
2014-07-20(D) Richard Carter vs David Langer Russian winIt was a fun defense for me, but just couldn't hold on faced w/ the massive firepower.

2009-11-01(A) David Ramsey vs Martin Barker Russian winGreat scenario - worth playing for a day. Russians won thanks to some good CC right at the end. German lost both tanks in the first prep fire though.
