Overview:

Throughout the Hell that was October in Stalingrad, determined and costly German assaults had managed to steadily shrink the Russian defensive perimeter. Everywhere it seemed that the Russians were hanging on by the slimmest of margins. On this day, near the Red October plant, German troops of the 79th Infantry Division finally broke through, reaching the HQ of Guryev’s beleaguered 39th Guards. As the Germans were about to surround the hard-pressed headquarters personnel, hurriedly dispatched reinforcements (a company of 62nd Army’s Headquarter’s Guard) arrived.

2024-11-15(A) John Garlic vs Matt Evans Russian winGermans estdual MG nests as base of fire on level 2 in bB4 and bC4 to suppress Guryev's HQ while attack attempted to push in theough dM1. Meanwhile a couple squads with LMG penetrated to dG2 to delay reinforcements. Russians were able to disrupt American firebase and assault force never got into factory. Looking back, probably should've moved MG firebase further forward to better concentrate fires. (North Texas ASL Shoot-Out 2024)

2024-02-01(D) Benoit REY vs Vafla German win
2023-07-08(D) Asad Rustum vs Tim ReadeD Russian winSemi-final of Illuminating Rounds tournament. Russian was fortunate enough to have three units, two squads and the leader to enter on turn three and the remaining four squads to enter on turn 4.
2023-07-06(D) David Ramsey vs Doug Leslie German winI clealy got something wrong, but hard to say. The forward building is very difficult to defend if you're upstairs and needing to fall back due to the staircases but I was outplayed and had no complaints. Nice game by Doug and well played, and even my reinforcements wouldn't have saved the day!

In addition to being an excellent scenario in its own right, this is one of the best scenarios to use when teaching a new player. Concealed defenders, no SW other than MGs, no stacking due to the Deluxe hexes, simple terrain, and straightforward, intense action... this is perfect for showing off ASL to new players without overwhelming them.
