Overview:

As the Allied beachhead in Sicily expanded, the impatient General George Patton demanded better facilities for supplying his troops. Under orders not to launch an offensive, Patton hit upon the subterfuge of calling his advance a “reconnaissance in force”. Pushing up from Gela, the job of seizing the docks at Porto Empedocle fell to the 3rd Ranger Battalion. . .

2021-09-04(A) Alan Krause vs Don Petros American winDon N. and I played the Americans and barely managed to gain control of 1/2 buildings and have enough casualty VP to get the win. The Italians were felled like cordwood, but the Germans held tough.
2020-09-28(D) Scott Sherer vs John Farrell American winTotally botched the VC...read the 3:1 CVP limit clause but didn't really grasp its implications. Put a few Italian HS's out front and were killed or captured and very quickly was looking at a 6:0 CVP hole. Americans dug in and didn't threaten either VC building, so the Germans tried a bit of local counter-attacking but only added to the CVP deficit. Conceded early.
2020-03-28(A) Dave Mareske vs Paul Works Italian / German winMy dice failed me against Paul's good rolls. I wish I could have given a better game. It looks fairly balanced, but when you average "8s" and roll 9 "12s" in some key spots, it did not make for a good game. Paul had a couple well placed HIP units that interrupted my attack. Called it after turn 4 as I would probably take the Italian building, but had no force left to take the German one.
