Before dawn, the forward elements of Kmpfgruppe Peiper were regrouped to assault an organized American defense in the village of Stoumont commanding the road leading out of the tortuous Ambleve valley. The US counted on the 3rd Infantry Battalion from the seasoned 30th Division supported by a fair amount of tanks, anti-tank guns and even brand new M2 90mm AA guns to block the Germans in front of the village.Attacker: German (SS) (Kampfgruppe Peiper)
