Overview:
Only one bridge over the Danube River was left standing, the Floridsdorf Bridge of Vienna. Elements of the 2nd SS Panzer Division fought stubbornly, in the small bridgehead, to provide for a defensive position to be set up. The Russians of the 5th Guards Tank Corps were determined to capture the bridge and continue pursuing the German troops back to Germany.Attacker: Russian (6th Guards Mechanized and the 20th Guards Tank Brigade and reinforcements from 48th Guards Heavy Tank Regiment)
