Overview:

"The Lynx's Claws" --- Though fall of 1943 saw the arrival of the Rasputitsa, or “Season without roads”, it did not prevent the Soviets from continuing offensives. The Guards 2nd Cavalry Corps seeped through the junction of Army Groups South and Centre near Chernobyl. The wooded and swampy ground, as well as the extent of the front, lent itself perfectly to such an operation. The Germans rushed reinforcements to the area in haste, including the 4th Panzer Division, an elite unit, but one which was fatigued by months of near-constant operations. The 4th Panzer tried desperately to recreate a front and support the 291st Infantry Division, hard hit by the enemy breakthrough. Fortunately, the Panzer Division had been armed with the new Luchs “Lynx” light tank, and was able to establish communications with isolated units. The small tanks had to also face the formidable enemy infantry following the cavalry and allow time to stabilize the area north of the breach opened by the Russian offensive. ----Victory conditions: The German players wins, if at the end of the scenario, there are a maximum of 2 Good Order (A.7) Russian squads in their set-up area and having caused more CVP than suffered.
Attacker: German (Elements 679th Construction Engineer Battalion & 2nd Co., 4th Panzer Reconnaissance Battalion)
