Overview:

The Red Army's 4th Assault Regiment had received orders to travel 90 miles over mountainous terrain and capture a suspension bridge. The bridge at Luding was the only bridge across the Dadu River, and was absolutely necessary. The 4th set off for their objective on a path so bad that they had to cut their own footholds into the mountain. On the first day they traveled about twenty-five miles. A messenger overtook them and they found the deadline for capturing the bridge was advanced. They now had 24 hours to hike the 70 miles and capture the bridge. Their next battle would be against a KMT battalion dug in on top of Fierce Tiger Mountain.

2022-04-27(D) Jobbo Fett vs Hypnobeard DrawCalled a draw as the night was closing in. KMT were browbeaten for the first three turns, with the scales of luck until turning when a large number of conscripts had thrown themselves into CC. By the end, it was mathematically impossible for the Red Chinese to win on EVP alone (with the currently amassed CVP) and needed to cause a lot of casualties (4/5 squads worth) in order to break even, but we both thought that, with the way MCs had been going, especially the ELR breaks for the Conscripts, it could have happened that either side win.

Maybe a little too hard for the Reds, although I would like to see what dice others are using. The Freedom of Movement SSR is virtually useless to anyone facing a defender that covers an entire column of hexes with LOS. Not a great scenario, but not terrible either. The Fog is particularly annoying, and feels even more punishing as the scenario progresses and average FP decreases.
2015-01-18(A) David Yllanes vs Vincent M Red Army winPlayed at the WO 15. A lot of fog and a lot of dummies make this too easy for the attacker, in my opinion. The defender basically has to hide and avoid being destroyed (the RA player cannot win on exit VP alone, he needs CVP also).
