Overview:

The thrust towards the Rhine River by the U.S. XV Corps was threatening to split the German First and Nineteenth Armies, which could lead to the outflanking of the Saar Basin and the destruction of the German forces west of the Rhine. German Field Marshal von Rundstedt needed armored reinforcements for a strong counterattack to prevent an Allied breakthrough. On the 21st of November, the Panzer Lehr Division was handed over to von Rundstedt and sent to Alsace for the counterattack against the advancing American forces.

2019-01-18(D) Stephen dedier vs boles, kevin German winI didn't care for this one at all. First time playing starter kit in years. Without concealment, the Americans are sitting ducks for the 7 German AFV that also have significant smoke capability. There is too broad an area to defend with 8 turns the Germans can push right up to find them quickly since it is pretty easy to deduce which units have the Baz. Or, just sit and pound on a narrow front. It didn't help that Kevin got 3 KIA rolls on hit with his armor but I would not recommend this scenario.
2018-02-01(A) O Ramaille vs German winThe German elements of Panzer Lehr decided to swarm through Baerendorf instead of moving in the open where they feared that AT guns might be lurking. The American defense was shaken by precise and sometimes critical hits from the Germans. The arrival of M5 tanks equilibrated a bit the odds. But the number of Panzer still moving was too important and soon the M5 tanks were smoked. It all depended now on the AT guns. The first tried a direct hit but suffered a critical hit as a response. The last one was too far away to prevent the Germans to exit their forces and win the game with 46 out of 40 VP needed.
2013-05-30(A) Martí Cabré vs Solo DrawA complex scenario. The Germans must cross a big wide space covered by only a handful of American infantry units but with two AT. I grouped my units in a fist to attack hard, but the two AT were well located and blasted two tanks and imm'd a third. In response a CH against an AT eliminated it and the other then malf'd. The GIs moved to cover the space with MGs and the landsers were somewhat in danger. The panzers fired some smoke rounds to cover their approach and tried to blast the remaining AT, but it was repaired and blasted another tank. Meanwhile both infantries had been firing at each other, causing many casualties with the good leadership. When the German infantry finally crossed the open ground to the central woods, the light American tanks managed to kill another panzer making the German win impossible. The Americans lost a gun, 4.5 squads and two leaders for 2.4 squads and a German leader, plus five tanks.
