Overview:

The Battle of Viru Harbor was a battle of the Pacific campaign of World War II that took place on New Georgia island during the New Georgia Campaign from 28 June – 1 July 1943. A battalion of U.S. Marine Raiders landed at a remote location, marched overland, and attacked a force of Imperial Japanese Navy and Army troops that were guarding Viru Harbor. The Marines drove the Japanese out of Viru, which was then occupied by additional U.S. Army soldiers and U.S. Navy personnel and ships.

2023-12-24(A) walter mcwilliams vs Tom Kearney Japanese winTom and I continued our march through the Blood and Jungle scenarios with this little gem. He set up a bit in correctly and I failed to take full advantage of the Marines freedom during set up. Both aided in my ultimate defeat. However, it didn't subtract from our fun at all. Recommended
2022-11-17(A) Simon Staniforth vs Craig Benn DrawThis scenario from the generally excellent Blood & Jungle back is set on 2 mapboards but in reality the game is played out on only a quarter of that due to the Japanese set up restrictions. They basically hunker down and skulk as they look to survive US firepower and protect the guns and / or fail that TC to attempt exit. We ran out of time and called it a draw T5 with the game in the balance, All 3 IJA leaders were still in the game and the Guns remained out of US LOS tucked away on the board edge.
2014-07-07(D) Andy Hershey vs Wayne Saunders Japanese win[Imported from ROAR]
2013-09-22(D) Richard Carter vs Dave Clemons Japanese winable to use the knee mortars to neutralize FG's w/ SMOKE and then a couple of banzais which allowed me to exit and win early. Interesting scenario. Might be tough on the US player.
