Overview:
The 1st Armored Division had crossed the Cecina River and was pursuing the retreating 26th Panzer Division. Task Force Cole was assigned the mission of clearing the hilltop village of Montiguidi. Arriving ten minutes ahead of the infantry, Cole's armor attempted to suppress heavy enemy fire but had limited success.
