Overview:

By the Spring of 1944 parts of the French countryside, in particular in the center and south, were no longer under Vichy control nor that of the occupier, with large Maquis bands growing restless. Eagerly waiting for the Allied landings they harassed the “boches”. Aware of the threat, the German Army planned to eradicate them. Though the Germans envisioned the use of operational units such as the 2.SS-Panzer-Division Das Reich, they would often make do with less motivated troops and in particular “eastern volunteers” to cope with partisan redoubts. Such a stronghold was the Mont-Mouchet, in southern Auvergne. It hosted both numerous bands some inexperienced youth with poor leadership and more efficient troops, like the Corps-Franc des Truands (“Mobsters”), a picturesque (its members wore a skull and crossbones insignia) but able unit. On May 25th and 31th, parachute drops enabled new recruits to be hastily armed. Soon, skirmishes took place with the police, Milice and German units. On June 2nd, a stronger column reached the redoubt.
Attacker: German (Elements of Infanterie Batallion 804)

2024-07-14(D) Dan Best vs Kermit Mullins German win
2023-08-24(A) Richard Jenulis vs Dennis Hess German winThis is a strange scenario, but I really enjoyed it. Everything that could go wrong for the Axis did early in the game, breakdown weapons, fail MC, all three squads roll 5 for the K/2 random selection, etc. Most of the game both sides stayed on their respective sides of the stream shooting at each other. The one thing that kept the Germans in the game was the French were as bad of shots as the Germans were. With the building control and prisoner exit out of reach, it came down to the last CC Phase. The Partisan prisoner failed its task check to attack their guard and the Partisans rolled a 12 on a 2-1 melee. The CVP at the end was Germans 8, Partisan 6. Exciting finish!
2020-03-04(A) Pascal Boileau vs Lionel Colin German winWith Lionel, we reversed the sides for this new game. Despite a much better set up for the partisan OB and a harsh time for the germans, they managed to exit a prisoner unit (SSR) at turn 5 and won immediately. With 3 different victory conditions available for the germans, it's really challenging for the partisans to win this scenario.
2020-02-18(D) davide galloni vs Raffaele Ianni Partisan win
