Overview:

The first two weeks of front service had passed without any major incidences for the Swedish Volunteer Corps. Both sides tried to find weaknesses in the opposite line of defense. On the very day Lieutenant Colonel Viking Tamm took a section of the 2nd Rifle Company to conduct the final scouting of an area targeted for attack by the Swedes, the Russians surprised by attacking 2nd Rifle Company's now weakened front line. The attack was initiated by a Russian Scouting patrol that bumped into the engineers from the 2nd Plow Platoon, who were, under the supervision of Corporal Alm, laying wire on the moor. When the shooting started, Russians started pouring out into the field.

2025-01-20(A) Jobbo Fett vs Rob W. DrawThe game ended in a draw due to the Swedish side forgetting the objective, and it felt a little harsh to claim victory on a momentary lapse, especially between friends.

The Russians took some hard losses and the setup wasn't optimized to strip concealment off of the Swedish defenders. As a result, OBA wasn't able to take full advantage of it and use the added hindrance to make a swift advance. Rob's men were surprisingly tenacious whenever the Russians could finally manage something better than a PTC. Ultimately, the defenders were a little too passive, and refused to take risks, which allowed the Russians to mass up adjacent to multiple woods hexes on the victory board and could simply Advance in to win the game. A fun scenario marred by bad dice, it has potential for some repeated play.
2024-07-12(D) Kalle Widell vs Eric ToppD Swedish winI liked the unusual victory conditions. My opponent rolled bad and he finished with 9/12 VPs still. Mortar got struck with a critical OBA hit early. Radio malfed. We concluded it might be beneficial to do a HW early to get that extra movement.

2023-05-20(A) Shane Pask vs Russian winFairly easy win for the Russians. Made sure I used the guaranteed first fire mission - missed my target but still broke (and disrupted 2/3) of the Wire laying party. Turn 4 could have been my downfall with 8 squads managing only 1 pin result versus an encircled squad but Swedish return fire was also largely ineffective. Final tally 12 VP for the Russians.

2022-12-09(A) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best Swedish winGood grief, I don't enjoy this "let's slog across the open ground" scenarios...oh and with deep snow...so that unless you move every turn...you probably won't be able to win the game as the Russians. Dan's hot dice tore me apart as I tried to cross the open ground. Swedish Sniper killed 8-1 and my squad with the HMG snaked it and then disrupted in the heat of battle of roll (I truly hate that Heat of Battle Baloney). I would have two squad disrupt after rolling snakes. After second squad disrupted, I gave the concession and Dan had the win. Won't ever see this scenario again.
