Overview:

On 29 February, the invasion of the Admiralty Islands-Operation BREWER-was initiated by the 1st Cavalry Division with the goal of establishing advance naval and air bases in the Bismarck Sea. A follow-up invasion of Manus was conducted by the 8th Cavalry Regiment on 15 March. 1st Squadron worked its way along the coast on the Number Three Road to attack Lorengau Airdrome, heavily defended by Japanese in bunkers. By 18 March the airdrome had been cleared, and the 8th Cavalry turned south along the Number Two Road to push through the jungle above the village. Here, two Japanese bunkers were perfectly sited to halt an advance. As soon as their presence was detected, Troop A was sent forward beyond the outpost line to eliminate them.

2024-12-22(A) Tuomo Lukkari vs Mikko Lukkari American win
2024-03-08(A) Shane Pask vs American winI had heard that the PK scenarios were poorly balanced but was spending a week in a hotel room so packed them to play solo on the trip. Favours the Offence in a big way. 2nd line Japs lose Stealth advantages so the Yanks just steamrolled them. Breaking a couple of MG (1 LMG, 1 MMG) and the SAN 5 were no help. The only thing the Jap sniper did for the whole game was shoot the Yank sniper on turn 5. Don't put MMG in pillboxes as they are too restricted and the pillboxes are highly vulnerable to CC.
2024-02-24(D) Peyton Spreacker vs Brandon Dega American winThe Japanese initially set up guarding their pillboxes heavily. However, there were blind spots that the Americans took advantage of upon advancing. There were some good shots by the Japanese, breaking US squads, but those squads rallied and the wave of American infantry continued to press forward. the Japanese reinforcements were no match for the fire power from the American side.
2024-02-01(D) rene cote vs mrosberg Japanese win
2023-11-18(A) Simon Staniforth vs Will Binns American winPlayed at Bounding Fire Blackpool. Once you’ve flushed out the HIP HS, it’s a case of using the American firepower to intimidate the Japanese and force them back. That’s something seen in many other scenarios but here the IJA has limited options given the small playing area and the need to be adjacent to the road in order to win. A missed potential Banzai in the final Japanese turn would have made things interesting but otherwise once the American forces were able to engage their full FP they quickly overcame the Japanese albeit the win was only in the final turn
