Overview:
At noon, the first tank battle of WWII between the German and American forces began 25 miles west of Tunis. Three companies of the 1st Armored Division were waiting for a column of approaching Mk IV panzer tanks. Unknown to them and Allied intelligence, the Pz IV tanks had the new long barreled 75mm high velocity guns. From a ridge near the Farm, Company A, 1st Armored Regiment charged down the hill to the valley floor.Attacker: American (1st Armored Division)
