Overview:

The main battle in West Timor shifted to the village of Babau. On the previous day, Australian troops of Sparrow Force (all volunteers from Tasmania) threw Japanese Naval paratroopers out of Babau, preventing the paratroopers from seizing the Penfui airfield. Communication failures on both sides led to the Aussies vacating their newly-won village and numerous Japanese units conducting meaningless sweeps of the jungle. The next day, it was apparent Babau had to be re-captured and held by Sparrow Force to allow the Aussies an easterly retreat route from the overwhelming amphibious landing to the west. Fresh Japanese Naval paratroopers were landed in the morning and reinforces the area around Babau and began to serve as a blocking force against the Australians.

2026-01-22(D) Andy Bagley vs Matt Ellis Australian winPlayed as the second in this scenario series, the Aussies having one the first. I made a big mistake by thinking all the multi-hex buildings counted for VC rather than just those in the central area, so brought so early reinforcements on on the south edge. From there I was always behind, and the game eventually stagnated with our forces locked on either side of the road through the village. This meant enough VPs for an Aussie win, so I conceded.
We had intended to carry on to play the third in this scenario series, but I opted out because they they are all very similar - same map, same entry areas, similar forces, and balance seems to favour the Australians slightly. So good to play as a one-off but I can't recommend the mini-campaign series.
2025-08-27(A) Tim Reade vs Dave Shannon Australian winPlaying as part of the CG. Japanese conceded on T6 a there was clearly too much for the Japanese tp do, and chances of reducing the VP gap was low. We move into the last scenario with a 5VP carry over for the Australians.
2024-11-09(D) nathan wegener vs Wes Vaughn Australian winDown to the last turn. Just bled too many Japanese to keep enough buildings. This was the only one of the set of 3 scenarios in the mini-CG that felt balanced.
2024-07-13(D) Diane Spangler vs Lawrence SpanglerA Australian win
2024-06-02(D) Tuomo Lukkari vs Victor Rosso Australian win[Imported from ROAR]
