Overview:

The town of Szack had been occupied by the Soviet 52nd Rifle Division, supported by a number of T-26 and T-28 tanks. Units of the Polish Border Protection Corps (Korpus Ochrony Pogranicza, or KOP), commanded by General Wilhelm Orlik-Rückemann, quickly closed on Szack, occupying the woods line west of town. Rückemann's corps was able to bait the Soviet armor into an ill-advised attack. Polish anti-tank and infantry guns quickly destroyed dozens of Soviet tanks, forcing them to retreat into Szack. Hoping to further boost morale, the Polish commander ordered a counterattack.

2025-06-24(A) Jonathan Kapleau vs Holland, Donald Polish win
2025-06-19(D) Douglas Leslie vs Tony Gibson Russian winInteresting little scenario which Tony and I chose for our VASleague game. Tony's Poles moved forwad confidently in the early going, while laughing in the face of morale checks. That said, my Russians were showing similar fortitude in the face of fire. Seldom have so many bullets been fired to so little effect. The final crunch came in turn three when the Poles advanced en masse to point blank range in face of the Russian defences. At this point I uncorked a series of low DRs which wreaked havoc on the Polish attackers. The mighty Russian tanks (not words often used in connection with T26 M33s) took advantage of a broken ATR squad to overrun the Polish stacks behind it and Tony conceded after the resultant carnage.
2025-05-30(A) Paolo Cariolato vs Andrea Pagni Polish win
2025-04-30(D) Andy Goldin vs Michael Klautky Polish winTough loss for me as the Russians. I managed to keep the Poles out of most of the buildings for the first half of the game but got hung-up in a key CC (I had 4-1 odds and rolled an 11, while Michael rolled a 3, resulting in a CR for one of my squads) on Turn 4. Turn 5 I had some good fire attacks, scoring 1MCs but Michael's Poles held firm, easily passing their MCs. In contrast my Russians failed every check so that by the end of Turn 5 I was left with 1 1/2 good order squads and a tank with a malf'd MA. I was unable to bring anyone back from their DM status in my Rally Phase and conceded in a decisive Polish win.
2025-04-20(D) Rich Weiley vs Dave Wallace Polish win
