Overview:

While the bulk of the Grossdeutschland Regiment drove towards the Luxembourg frontier, elements of the 3rd Battalion under Oberstleutnant Barski took off from airfields near the German-Belgium border. This force was earmarked for the air landing operation codenamed "NIWI". The 400-men of the Garski Battalion were to be flown 15 km behind the enemy’s front lines, with mission to cut communications, hinder reserves reinforcing the front lines and attack the enemy’s fortifications from the vulnerable rear. Oberstleutnant Garski’s landed at 0600 hours and was only able to link up with nine men of his force. Radio contact was established with XIX Panzer Korps and Garski learned from reports that to the east of Wity, Belgian Ardennes Mountain troops were putting up stiff resistance. Using earlier commandeered automobiles, Garski quickly moved his force to the western outskirts of Fauvilliers.

2024-07-02(D) Paul Works vs Scott Martin Belgian win
2024-03-24(A) M Nov vs German winNice, uncomplicated (rules-wise) infantry action. I think the key for the German win was they were able to squirt through the big forest and quickly apply direct pressure on the Belgian retreat. Simultaneously, they also got just enough down through the middle and were able to lay a fire lane to also complicate things for the Belgians. Lastly, I remember setting up for the German reinforcements and wondered why the hell did the OOB include high PP mortars to lug around - if you bring those mortars in on the edge, they can (and did) influence the action without having to move too far.
2022-10-13(D) Dan Best vs Jonathan Alpeyrie German winGermans were able to interdict the Belgians pulling back. closed for the win.
2021-06-19(D) Fabio Malino vs Alessandro Belgian winGame decidet at the last CC.
The Belgian has to retreat quickly in the early rounds to take a position around the road before the arrival of the German reinforcements
2021-05-18(A) Jason Nichols vs Bruno Javanabal Belgian winThe Germans made a good start with some accurate, long-range MG fire that broke the 9-1 leader and squad but couldn't follow up. The attack from the right petered out and a broken 7-0 leader and squad stayed broken the entire game. The reinforcements from the left came on too timidly and Bruno had time to hunker down in stone buildings along the victory road. The Germans ran out of time and resigned on turn 5. Really need to be aggressive with this one I think. Getting some smoke would be good too.
2020-07-27(D) Gerry Proudfoot vs Dave Perham German winBelgians did a good job retreating and got 6 squads and 2 HS back to the town. Everything went south on turns 5 and 6 as the Germans walked through a blizzard of Def Fire and Residual fire to kill off four squads on turn 5. Turn 6 saw a repeat with the last 2.5 Belgian SE being killed in CC ambushes without German loss. The last ditch attempt by the surviving HS to taken on six German SE and advance into CC to kill a German HS for the win failed.

2020-04-18(A) Jacob Elmqvist vs Ingemar Gardell German winLast DR in CC gave the Germans a hard fought victory.
2019-12-14(A) Dmitry Klyuykov vs Pavel Kaloshin German win
2018-11-25(D) Allen Evenson vs Glen Aro Belgian winGlen couldn't pass a morale check, I couldn't fail one. Fun scenario.
2018-06-24(A) Richard Jenulis vs Luis Del Castillo German win
2018-01-07(A) Jeff B vs Roberto Alesse German winAs in my previous playing of this, not a lot of casualties until the end. Prior to that it was mostly about movement and positioning. The Germans must use the hill and upper levels of the J6/J7 building to suppress any Belgian attempts to rush back to town. If they can get their reinforcements there before the Belgians have a chance to hole up then their job is much easier, and that is exactly what happened here. As it was I was sweating it until a very solid Turn 5 prep fire busted the defense up.
2014-11-29(A) Steffen Knippel vs Paul Suderman Belgian win
2014-10-13(A) Robert Zinselmeyer vs Ken Willmann German winGood, fast paced Infantry only scenario.
2014-08-13(D) Jeff B vs Giorgio Winter Belgian winA fun little clash. Not much killing until the very end.
2012-11-16(A) Andy Beaton vs Tom West Belgian winThe starting German force was slaughtered, and couldn't prevent the Belgians digging into a virtually impregnable position. Lost of fun, though.
2012-01-07(D) Jeff Waldon vs Frank Tozier Belgian winVASL
2010-08-12(D) Fred Schwarz vs Mike Fetty Belgian win
2003-07-26(D) Paul Works vs Gary Bradley Belgian win2003 St. Louis ASL Tournament; round two.
