Overview:

British and Canadian forces had seized Caen and were continuing their assault on German forces to the southeast. 3rd Company, Schwere Panzer Abteilung 503’s company of Tiger tank rolled on toward Giberville after a desperate call for assistance. Upon reaching Giberville, Leutnant Rosen observed a large number of Sherman tanks near a farm. He gave the command “panzers marsch” and the battle was on!

2024-07-16(A) Jeff B vs Scott Sherer German win7 hrsI wanted to enter from the south, but too many opportunities for side shots scared me away. So instead I entered from the east along and east of the hedged road. Given that there is actually a decent amount of time in this one, the plan was to enter the infantry in the same general area and use armored assault to move forward. What I did not expect was the ease with which my Tigers would dispatch his Shermans in the AFPh; their large sizes certainly helped. They tried to save themselves with defensive smoke, but that didn't go so well, and by the end of Turn 2 five were already wrecks (no surprise, four burning). Turn 3 saw two more fall, as the Germans ground forward almost with impunity. Turn 4 saw another go down, as well as a precious Firefly, and the broken unpossessed AT gun was overrun. With Tigers enveloping from the north and south, and infantry catching up to the Tigers pushing from the east it was really only a matter of time and the Canucks conceded. I was glad I was the attacker in this one, as the defensive setup seems a bit daunting, but I do think you need to aggressively set up the Fireflies up front and go for early kills. Scott had them on overwatch up in the hills and it's too easy to avoid their eyes.
2021-10-24(D) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best Canadian/British winCanadian Fireflys took out 5 of the Tigers by Turn 2 and so it went. Ended up not being a lot of fun unfortunately.
2021-10-23(A) Dan Best vs Kermit Mullins Canadian/British winCanadians setting up hull down behind walls make the historical narrative of being caught unaware false. The fire fly tanks killed 5 tigers by turn 2 with no Sherman tanks lost. Making this scenario unbalanced.
2015-08-15(D) Gordon Jupp vs Nick Holmshaw Canadian/British winExcellent game which went down to the wire...started with a CH on first shot of game by a Firefly taking a Tiger out, but said firefly then malf'd and broke it's MA....:) and so it went on, backwards and forwards, Brits lost all their tanks but 7 Tigers were destroyed, the last one in CC by battle hardened Canadian leader! Great fun and worth a play just because it has 11 Tigers!
2009-12-30(A) Paolo Cariolato vs Arlecchino79 German win
